Wassup, dawg?

Snowy and Bailey are my homies. Leaders of the pack around the hood, these two gorgeous labradors are the stars in Chimp’s latest photoshoot, Chimptown Dogs.

The clothing store in Leeds is well known for approaching both look books and editorials from unusual creative angles (in the past they’ve showcased their wares worn by gymnast Joseph Kanauros as he is free-falling). This time around, photographer Joseph Dawson was commissioned to shoot their new headwear range on the coolest of talent.

‘The job was difficult as the dogs usually knocked the hats off straight away. We started by using treats to get them to sit, but actually found that a tennis ball was the best tool as you could control where the dog was looking and they seemed to sit longer wanting the ball than a treat, funnily enough’ Joseph recalls about the shoot. ‘Towards the end, the dogs became used to the hats and sat for slightly longer but the fun in the pictures was not knowing what pose the dog would strike, and just snapping as quick as you could to get a few frames per hat’.

Word.
