LIFE IMITATES ART
When it comes to collars, leads and harnesses, there are a few boxes to tick before we deem them ‘my dog’ worthy: comfort, durability, security and practicality. And maybe you’ll find all four, but that fifth essential—style—is typically missing. Accessories designed with both you and your dog in mind are rare, but if you know where to look, you’ll find everything you need.
The Painter’s Wife’s latest release, the Sonia Collection, celebrates French artist Sonia Delaunay. A pioneer of Simultanism along with husband Robert, Sonia’s vibrant use of contrasting colour echoes through the range. Each collar, lead, and harness is lightweight, water-resistant, and easy to fasten. The eye-catching palette, in colours like cherry blossom, mimosa, vermillion and moss, speak to Delaunay’s artistic style.
For each accessory sold, founders Rosana A. Agrelo and Josep Pintor donate 5% of the proceeds to a local dog-intervention program. As a contemporary art specialist and veterinarian duo (respectively), they use their mutual love of art and dogs to bring splashes of creativity to everyday canine diversions.
