CLIMATE CHANGE

Xiamen-based illustrator Oamul Lu uses his talents to take note of the inherent beauty surrounding him. Through paintings, products, books—and even simple GIFs—Lu reminds us to slow down and reconnect with nature. It’s not hard to take a moment of pause to appreciate Lu’s depictions; his artistic style exudes a sense of calm, with saturated colour palettes sympathetic to each season, handwritten lettering, and scenes of joy depicting everyday moments with our four-legged buddies. From the cool blues of canoeing across a frozen lake in winter to walking among summer’s brilliant blooms, Lu’s work is always in season.

PACK OF DOGS

Have you ever imagined Amy Winehouse or Nick Cave as a Chihuahua, Neil Young as a Vizsla, or PJ Harvey as an Afghan hound? That’s exactly what San Francisco-based artist Michael Gillette has done through his unique illustration project, blending beloved, iconic music legends, both past and present, with their dog counterparts. Pack of Dogs, our first foray into book publishing, is a celebration of pup and pop culture for music and dog lovers alike.

BACK HOME

Photographer Nicole England reflects on the making of the international edition of Resident Dog, a must-have book for dog-loving architecture buffs.

LICK OF PAINT

Susumu Kamijo’s poodles are back in Lick Me Till Dawn, a solo exhibition being held concurrently at New York galleries Marvin Gardens and Jack Hanley.
