LOVE UNSPOOLED

Fun fact: the earliest known knitted item is a pair of socks, dating back to 500–1200 A.D., somewhere in Egypt . The trade made its way to Europe, and throughout the Middle Ages knitting was a lucrative business. With peaking demand, supply stepped up and spawned highly prestigious knitting guilds. Members (all men back in those days) dedicated their lives to perfecting their skills and refining their offerings of stockings, socks, caps, coats and gloves to appeal to the rich and fancy. After years of training, apprentices were tasked with knitting their ‘masterwork’ to graduate to Master status. What does all this have to do with dogs? Well, in a collaboration with Cloud7, yarn master and animal-welfare conscious Lana Grossa has created the Dog Loop Knitting and Dog Sweater Knitting Kits. Cloud7’s limited edition kits are the perfect way to wind down and recharge over the holiday season, while refreshing your hound’s wardrobe. Extra-fine, machine-washable merino wool sourced from leading spinning mills in Italy is guaranteed to be free from muscling, creating a warm, snug and stylish sweater or snood for your lucky pup. It goes without saying each kit makes a fantastic gift for the dog lover in your life—a masterwork in the making.
